Sports Fun 4 All were successful in receiving funding from the Bellingham Green Assembly to run the BGFP, a social inclusion programme for young people aged 7 – 18 providing positive diversionary activity for the young people in the local and surrounding areas using football as the tool to engage them. It ran for 12 weeks from September 2016 to December 2016 delivering a total of 60 hours of football activity.
The project focused on engaging the YP in a safe, informal environment giving them the opportunity to have fun and improve their soft skills like communication, team work and respect. Offering a fun, engaging activity on a young person’s doorstep made it easier for them to participate removing the barriers to participation like cost and travel.
In total 52 different young people took part in the project across the 12 weeks expanding our
delivery into the local community and allowing us to make a positive impact on more young people’s life’s through the power of sport.
